Happy birthday

December 21, 2007

to my grandmother.  She would have been 64 today.  I can not say that I miss my grandmother, since I was only about 8 years old when she died.  But I do miss not knowing her.  I miss seeing my mom with her mom.  I would have liked to see them together.  I am told that she loved Christmas.  I love Christmas too, so I must have gotten it from her!  Anyway, Happy Birthday Grandma.  You are missed.

For anyone following my job hunt…….. I GOT THE JOB!!!  Very exciting stuff, I must say!

Working Girl

December 14, 2007

For the past several weeks I have been job hunting.  It is something I never thought I would want to do… and I am still not certain.  I am scared.  And excited.  I worked really hard to get my degree and now it is time to put it to use.  I have interviewed for several positions, and just yesterday I got asked back for a second interview with a great company.  The hiring manager told me that 250 accountants applied for this job.  They interviewed 5 candidates, including ME!  How I got that interview in the fist place, out of 250 other applicants, I will never know!  I have a feeling God had a hand in this…  I am so excited to get the chance to interview with the head of the accounting department at Baker Hughes on Thursday!  I am very excited.  This will be such a change for my family.  I have been here for EVERYTHING for the past 6 1/2 years.  I am terrified of all I will miss, and especially scared that one day Zach will wonder why I did not stay home with him like I did with his brother and sister.

Yesterday when I was scheduling my interview, my heart broke a little bit when she said the only availability was Thursday, December 20th.  That is the day of Drew’s program at school… and I wanted to hear him sing “Wasn’t it A Mighty Day” so badly.  Thank goodness Marcus will be able to go so I will see the program on video.  He will be dressed as a donkey… :)

Well, stay tuned, I’m hoping to know something soon about the job!
